Activate Your Merchant Account
- Open your QuickBooks® Point of Sale software
- From the Company menu, select Company Preferences and click on Merchant & Gift Services.
- Enter your merchant account number to activate your service and you’re ready to begin accepting credit and debit cards

- QuickBooks® not required to use GoPayment. Optional download feature requires QuickBooks® Pro or Premiere 2009 or QuickBooks® Mac 2010 or higher, sold separately.
- If you already have an Intuit QuickBooks® Merchant Service account to process in your QuickBooks® software, you can simply add GoPayment as an extra processing option by going to the Manage Account tab in the Merchant Service Center.
- Optional Bluetooth card reader and card reader and printer device are not required to use GoPayment, and are sold separately by Intuit. These devices only work with select downloadable GoPayment application supported phones; it is not supported by all GoPayment application supported phones; it does not work with the online version. Only works with Intuit GoPayment. An additional layer of encryption was added to the device to guarantee the card data is protected as it travels from the swiper to the phone. Therefore, the devices cannot be used for any other merchant service and must be purchased from Intuit.
- NOTE: Optional hardware only works with downloaded GoPayment application version.
- Card-swiped rate applies to qualified swiped Visa/MC/Discover network transactions that are electronically authorized. Card-swiped rate requires the optional card reader to GoPayment service, which is sold separately.
- “Key-Entered Rate” will be charged on all qualified manually keyed Visa/MC/Discover Network transactions that have AVS. All Visa/MS/Discover Network transactions that do not meet the requirements stated above, business cards, foreign cards and transactions that do not meet Visa/MC/Discover Network requirements for the best interchange program will be charged a “Non-Qualified Rate” of 3.70%.
- Elimination of per transaction fee does not apply to American Express transactions. Different discount rates for American Express and JCB may apply.
- No cancellation or long term contract policy is only for QuickBooks® Merchant Service. There may be contracts and cancellation fees for your mobile phone or phone plan as provided directly by the carrier of your choice.
- The Intuit® GoPayment Prepaid Visa® Card is issued by The Bancorp Bank pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. and can be used wherever Visa debit cards are accepted. The Bancorp Bank; Member FDIC. Some fees may apply. See Cardholder Agreement for details. There may be in some cases where the Intuit® GoPayment Prepaid Visa® Card is not available to some users, including, but not limited to, non-profits, residents in Vermont, and anyone who expects to process more than $15k a month.
